The project ‘Mathematician Youngsters Write Green STEM Project’ was supported under the 4004-Nature Education and Science Schools 2022/1 call under TÜBİTAK Science and Society Programmes. The project was carried out under the leadership of Assoc. Prof. Dr. Deniz ÖZEN ÜNAL between 23-27 January 2023 at the Aydın Province Strategic Planning and Innovation Centre (AİSYEM) building of our University.
In this project, it is aimed to increase the knowledge and motivation of high school students studying in qualified high schools such as science high schools or project schools towards mathematics and STEM awareness, to improve their environmental awareness and attitudes towards the environment positively, and to enable them to develop projects on how they can use mathematics to solve environmental problems.
With the activities carried out within the scope of the project, it is aimed to (1) increase the knowledge and motivation of students studying in qualified high schools towards mathematics, (2) increase their awareness of STEM and develop positive attitudes, (3) develop their attitudes towards the environment positively, (4) develop their attitudes towards solving mathematical problems positively, (5) increase their mathematical knowledge that they can use in solving environmental problems.
